PRODUCTS
Cows are the biggest source of milk but during the whole life cycle of a cow, the milk is limited. Interestingly, they are an even bigger source of gobar and goumutra, which has immense agriculture and therapeutic use, that is supplied during the whole life cycle. We strive to create products that are environmentally friendly, cheap, easily producible and just blend with the overall echo system. Our research initiatives are addressed in the Activities section. Here is a glimpse of the products we are currently working on:
- Organic Compost prepared from gobar in a wormy pit.
- Gou Kasth is prepared from a gobar and is a substitute for wood as fuel.
Organic Compost
The compost is prepared from the gobar where the gobar is put in a wormy pit for a certain amount of time. The earthworms in the wormy pit do their job and convert the gobar into organic compost. This compost is popularly known as black gold due to its fertility qualities. In the short video, you will find our volunteer showing us the wormy pit and the prepared compost.
It is typical to use the gobar first in a gobar gas plant where the gas is used for cooking and lighting purposes. This gobar is then advanced forward to the wormy pit where the earthworm do their job of converting it to black gold.
Gou Kasth
Using dried gobar as an alternative to wood for cooking and heating is a popular practice in rural areas. This is not something new but known to us for ages. Gou Kasth is the evolved form of the same knowledge where it is produced using simple machines in uniform shapes and sizes for ease of use and streamlined production. It finds its usage from home cooking, heating, and mosquito repellent for animals to various rituals.
In the video, you can find a typical machine for producing the Gou Kasth. The volunteers are happy to show the complete process of making the Gou Kasth from gobar to finished product.
If you need some inspiration about the cow products and how others are using this simple yet powerful concept to build amazing products which are completely natural and support our echo system, here are a few links for you to get started:
